Basic Meat Loaf

You will need:

  • 3 lbs. of ground chuck (or a blend of any other ground meats)
  • 1/2 cup of diced sweet onion
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup tomato catsup

Combine all of the above ingredients and shape into a foot ball shape and place in a roasting pan with 1 inch of water in the bottom.

Place 3 strips of beacon on the top of the meat loaf and then squirt some more of the catsup on the top and spread evenly.  Bake a 350 degrees for about an hour and a half or till done.

When done remove from pan and let rest before slicing.  Add a little more water to the pan as needed and 1/2 of a Knorr beef bullion cube and bring to a boil.  Add a little corn starch to some water and slowly thicken the gravy.
