Glazed Plum and Almond Puff Pastry

You will need a package of Puff Pastry, ( I use Pepperidge Farm ).  Place both thawed sheets on ungreased cookie sheets and pierce with fork.  Combine 1 cup silvered almonds, finely ground and 3 tbsp. sugar, and 2 tbsp. flour and blend well.  Spread almond mixture evenly over both crusts to within a 1/2 inch from the edge.

Fruit topping:

You will need 4 red plums and 4 purple plums, (2 lbs). Remove pits and slice into rings. (about 1/8 inch for each slice and now slice the rings in half.  Arrange plum slices in rows on the pastry alternating the colors.

Now in a small bowl or shaker combine 2 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg and 1/8 tsp. ginger and 1/8th tsp. allspice and shake over the plums.  Bake for 15 min. on 400 degrees or until pastry is browed and plums are soft.

Microwave or heat on stove in a sauce pan 1/3 to 1/2 plum preserves.  Brush over the plums using pastry brush and cool and serve with a dollop of whipping cream or a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream.  Delicious!

ENJOY!!
