Scrumptious Chocolate Cake
In a large mixing bowl or mixer place:
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/2 tsp. of salt
In a med saucepan on the stove place:
- 2 cups of lightly salted butter
- 1` cup of water
- 3 tbsp. of cocoa powder, (I use Hershey's)
Melt and mix into the dry ingredients above and blend.
Now add 2 eggs, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. of vanilla, 1/2 tsp.
vinegar dissolved into 1/2 cup of milk and mix well.
Pour into a greased and floured jelly roll pan and bake at 350
degrees for about 35 minutes. Remove and allow to cool for a
few minutes.
Frosting:
Melt 1/2 cup of lightly salted butter in a saucepan and add 3
tbsp. of cocoa powder, 1 tsp. vanilla, 3 tbsp. evaporated milk and
remove from heat and add 1 box of 10x sugar and stir till smooth
and ice cake immediately. Sprinkle with favorite nuts, (I
use pecan pieces) and cut into squares and serve. This cake
is very moist and so chocolaty that you will fall in love with it.
